Valentines Day in Paris

Love is alive and well in Paris today. There's the man who felt the need to lick his girlfriends face on the Metro. The roses sitting in my living room given to the woman I live with by her partner. And then there's me. Arguing with the man I love about which one of us turned Valentines Day into the disaster it has become. The joys of being miles apart, not fixing a 'Date' because the only way to date is through Skype. But also the joy of this holiday which in my experience is horrible whether you're in a relationship or not. Perhaps I expect too much and there is certainly a lack of communication happening this evening. But then that's easy when the only way to have a date is through a computer. So in the end, there's just been two people feeling lonely and miserable in different countries today. And we will not be the only ones, single or otherwise. I think it's time for a V day boycott. From now on I am only celebrating the V day that celebrates the end of World War 2.

So to celebrate this holy feast of St Valentine I took myself on a night walk of the city by myself and cried my eyes out. And I wandered into The Sacre Cour. So in fact, I found the most appropriate way to celebrate.

On the plus side the sun shone for a bit today.
