Room War 1 - The battle continues...or does it?

I am sat in my flat trying desperately to work out if the smell of burning is my neighbours dinner or the burnt, rotting inside of my mouse friend. He has not left the cupboard in three days. Having reported both the small water leak in my cupboard and the problem of my mouse to my landlord we discovered that although he had eaten some of the poison that was laid a few weeks ago he must still be alive due to having access to water upon eating it. Leak fixed. Every single drop of water removed from the sink and draining board after use and we find the mouse to be quiet and slow. Well, for two nights he barely moved and when he did it was such little movement it suggested he was labouring. This was followed by an undisturbed nights sleep last night. Not a single sound. During the day, nothing. Although this morning I did think I heard a squeak, one solitary squeak and then nothing. It may have come from the DVD I was watching though. And now I have a weird smell...dare I say the mouse may be dead? Dare I? No. I dare not. I will not believe this is over until I have got my landlords friend to clear out my cupboard in search of a live or dead mouse. Then I will place traps again, just in case. I won't believe it's finished until we find a dried up corpse.

If I hear a rustle of bags tonight after my hopes have been so stretched I may just kill myself instead. Damn indestructible mouse.

But as he hasn't been bothering me for a few days I shall take a point.
